The fantastic properties of sheepskin make for a perfect boot. With the fleece against your skin the boot is air conditioned in summers and warm in winter. Wool fleece can be worn without socks. If you did that with synthetic fur your feet would perspire and smell up in short order.

Uggs au natural are not like that; it takes a much longer time for odor to build and for some reason, it is not pungent. With genuine sheepskin your feet do not perspire much, stay warm in winter, air-conditioned in summer.

One can make use of water repellent or water resistant cleaners. You just have to spray the area evenly and thoroughly. Make sure you spray the seams but do not saturate the leather. With frequent rain and inclement weather, apply water and stain repellent more often and let dry for 24 hours.

Look over the directions avoid applying near a flame or downwind to you don't breathe in the fumes. Some repellent's are very flammable and are not recommended to breathe in.

Washing you Uggs in a washing machine may result in a little fading. Cold water that is very cold helps reduce fading. But a few tee shirts along with your boots in the washer so they don't knock around. Also they act like scrubbers. Use the light-duty cycle for 15 minutes and add Woolite. Don't use any other type soap.

At the end of the cycle, pull out the boots, slippers or shoes. You can hand scrub with a soft brush using a little Woolite or use an old toothbrush or nail brush where there is any encrusted dirt or scuffs that needs that little bit extra scrubbing. Then you can return to the washer and rinse and spin dry.

When you pull out your Uggs, put soda bottles into the shaft to keep the damp boots upright and let them air dry in a warm place. Check from time to time so the leather isn't puckering. If it is, gently push and tug to keep the look of the boot.

In order to prevent water lines, ensure that the boot drys equally. After the boot is dry you can spruce up the pile with a soft brush. Remember to use and re-apply the waterproofing repellent.

Woolite and cold water will keep your boots clean and minimize fading. Wearing prolonged use will stretch sheepskin. When you get a new pair you want them to fit snug and not too tight.

Deodorize Ugg boots is a simple matter. After the boot is dried use a mixture of baking soda and corn flour to deodorize and soften the inside of the boots. Take 2 tsp of baking powder and 2 tsp of corn flour mixed together and sprinkle them inside the boot and shake the dust around the bottom. Let them stay overnight and shake out the excess in the morning.
