Fashion is a wonderful thing, but it really does not fit well into our daily lives. When you are hustling the kids off to school, your outfit is the least of your worries. The same goes for bras, with the exception of those special evenings.
As you well know, a particular look is attributable to a special occasion. The dress you wear to a ball is entire different than the one you wear to funeral. Obviously, this is an extreme example, but emphasizes the point that there is a bra for every occasion.
The first issue to deal with is what is appropriate for the event you are attending and what impression do you want to make. Do you want people focused on you because of dramatic cleavage or not?
Before we get into that, the great duct tape debate has to be discussed. Do models in fashion magazine where duct tape to create particular bust line shapes? Yes. Should you? No. Duct tape is not good for the skin and not a real world solution.
There is a far simpler solution. There is one bra that can be used in a wide variety of special occasions. It is known as the convertible bra. It goes with everything from a full blown gown to a little strapless number.
Is there any bra as versatile as the convertible bra? Probably not. Why? This bra is magical because the straps unclip. You can have a two strap bra, a one strap version or no straps at all. How is that for flexibility?
The key to the convertible bra is to remember that the support should come from the band around the bottom. The shoulder straps should only provide occasional cup support. Your breasts should be pushed up, not pulled up.
Consider an example of how this bra is used. You want to wear a dress that has a single right shoulder strap. Instead of going with a strapless bra, you can simply remove the corresponding strap from the convertible version.
The ingenious benefits of this bra are obvious when we consider a strapless dress. Instead of spending money on strapless bras, we can just use our convertible bra. Remove both straps and we suddenly have our strapless bra.
Is the convertible bra right for every occasion? No. It is a poor choice if you have a plunging open back on your dress since the band will show. Other than that, however, it covers nearly all special occasions.
